Your figures stay in your browser

With JavaScript on, what you type into a calculator is worked out on the page, in your browser, and is not sent to us. A link with figures after a "?" in the address, or a form used without JavaScript, sends those figures to our server so it can draw the page; we do not keep them, our page count records only the page's path, and the server's own logs record paths, not figures. The site remembers your details between calculators in your browser's own storage on this device, under "Your details" at the top of each calculator, so you do not have to type them twice. That storage is never sent to us. "Clear" removes it; so does clearing site data in your browser.

The share button makes a link that carries your figures in the part of the address after the #, which browsers never send to a server. Anyone you give that link to can see those figures, so share it as you would a payslip.

What we count

One count per page viewed, holding the page's path and the response status and nothing else: no salary, no tax code, no address, no device identifier. The counts are kept by our host, Cloudflare, and are used only to see which calculators are used. There are no cookies set by us, no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics scripts.

Our host

The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes the IP address of every request to deliver the page and to protect the service, and keeps short-lived request logs for operating it, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Cloudflare's bot protection may set a cookie of its own for that purpose. Nothing on the page is loaded from any other company: the typeface, the stylesheet and the scripts all come from this site.

Email

If you write to us, we keep the email for as long as it takes to deal with it and to fix anything it reports. We do not add you to a list.

Changes

If what we keep changes, this page changes first, with the date. Last changed 20 October 2026.
